Led by His Excellency Talal Al Teneiji, Director of the Office, a delegation from the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation participated in the 42nd Plenary Meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF). Held in Rabat from 11 to 13 May 2026, the plenary convened representatives from member states as well as key international and regional organizations.

The meeting discussed several strategic issues related to combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, including mutual evaluations, follow-up reports, and enhancing regional cooperation. The agenda also included specialized technical sessions and expert forums, in addition to discussions on work plans and updates related to the international standards of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).  The UAE holds the 2026 presidency of the group, with the EOCN playing a pivotal role by chairing the Technical Committee on Targeted Financial Sanctions.
