EOCN discusses ways of cooperation with UN (WFP) and IHC

Dubai-H. E. Talal Al Teneiji, director of the Executive Office for control and non-proliferation (EOCN), received a delegation from the UN World Food Programme (WFP), headed by Abdul Majid Yahya, director of the WFP UAE & WFP representative to the GCC region, and representatives of the International Humanitarian City (IHC), to discuss ways and prospects for joint cooperation in the field of relief shipments.

  

H.E. Talal Al Teneiji expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the WFP office and the humanitarian role it plays, especially in the event of disasters and emergency crises. In the same context, he pointed out that the UAE has a strong infrastructure in the field of humanitarian assistance. The UAE has proved its strong presence in various crises and disasters by playing a leading role in the humanitarian field. Al Teneiji has also praised the efforts of the IHC for its prominent role in providing relief logistical support.  The EOCN and the UAE institutions spare no effort towards providing full support for humanitarian and relief works and facilitating all procedures related to granting permits for relief shipments to arrive at the right time for needy and affected people, Al Teneiji said.

 

The visiting delegation appreciated the efforts exerted by the EOCN, which contributed significantly to supporting relief operations in order to pave the way for achieving peace, stability and prosperity in light of the difficult economic conditions faced by some peoples left by wars and economic crises.
