A delegation from the Executive Office for Control and Non-proliferation (EOCN), headed by His Excellency Talal Al-Teneiji, EOCN director, has participated in Malaysia Strategic Trade Summit 2023, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from October 23 to 27, 2023. The Summit was made under the auspices of the Malaysian Ministry of investment, trade and industry and the participation of the office and program for export control and border security of the U.S. Department of state and the international non-proliferation program of the U.S. Department of energy.

The development and strengthening of capacity-building programs in Asian countries to achieve compliance in export control are among other subjects discussed in the summit.  This is besides coping with development and modern techniques in this regard, particularly matters related to cybersecurity and nontangible technology transfer that might be used in the manufacture of mass destruction weapons. The summit has also shed light on the importance of building close partnerships between public and private sectors through cooperation and continuous coordination between them in capacity-building and exchange of information and experiences, which have an active role in achieving compliance.
