The Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation (EOCN) held a workshop for national authorities on the "Outcomes of the final draft of the Proliferation Financing National Risk Assessment” which was attended by representatives of regulatory and supervisory authorities, law enforcement agencies, the Financial Information Unit, Export Control entities and Local Registrars. The meeting began by expressing thanks and appreciation to all national institutions for their role and support in the preparation of the study since its first stages. The EOCN has also reviewed the key threats and weakness considered as risks for proliferation financing. This is besides the measures and mitigating controls to curb risks. Not to mention the specific recommendations to be considered in the future by local authorties, to strengthen the system of combating the financing of arms proliferation and sanction evasion in preparation for the process of mutual assessment of the UAE in 2026.

This workshop is organized within the vision of the Executive Office as the National Coordinator for the implementation of targeted financial sanctions in consultation with all national authorities concerned with combating the financing of arms proliferation, taking into account their views before the presentation and the approval of the final draft by the National Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organizations Committee.
