The UAE delegation, headed by H.E. Talal Al Teneiji, Director of the Executive Office for Control and Non-Proliferation (EOCN), participated in the regional workshop on “The Application of Customs Tariff Codes in the Trade of Strategic Goods for GCC Countries.” The event was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, from February 1–3, 2026, in partnership with the European Union Dual-Use Export Control Programme (P2P).
The workshop focused on strengthening dual-use export control systems and highlighted the critical importance of coordination between regulatory authorities, customs, law enforcement agencies, and the private sector. Key sessions addressed the practical application of tariff codes within strategic trade frameworks.
A major highlight was the “Correlation Tables” initiative, which demonstrates a practical, risk-based approach to enhancing compliance and streamlining trade control efficiency. Furthermore, the discussions emphasized the necessity of deepening regional cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states to address shared security and trade challenges.
